Phalse ka Sharbat (Serves:5-6; Preparation Time: 15 minutes)


  • 250 gms phalse (the sweet and sour, exotic summer berries)
  • 100 gms sugar
  • 1½ tsp black salt
  • ½  tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper powder 
  • Rinse the phalse thoroughly and leave them to dry on a plate

  • Sprinkle the sugar on the phalse; after about half an hour, the sugar will be partly dissolved

  • In a mixer jar, blend together the phalse and sugar mix along with black salt, plain salt and black pepper powder; add about 1 glass water and blend well (one could add or reduce sugar, salt and pepper as per taste)

  • Pass this mixture through a sieve to get rid of the seeds

  • You should refrigerate this mix, and dilute with chilled water to enjoy this refreshing drink!
